Pregnancy, birth, and becoming a parent can change so much—sometimes in ways we don't expect.

I'm Rachel Snarch, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a particular focus on perinatal and postpartum mental health. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity shifts, and the complicated emotional experiences that can come with becoming a parent.

My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing, without having to make it look easier than it feels.

Hi there, I’m Rachel.

Why this work matters to me

Some of life's biggest transitions can also be some of the most emotionally complex.

Pregnancy. Birth. Becoming a parent. Pregnancy loss. Fertility struggles. The transition into a new version of yourself.

Sometimes they hold joy.

Sometimes grief.

Often both at the same time.

Yet so much of the conversation focuses on physical health, while the emotional experience quietly unfolds beneath the surface.

It’s that quieter, often invisible emotional experience that drew me to this work.

As both a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and as a parent myself, I've experienced how easy it is to appear like you're coping while internally carrying so much.

After the birth of my first child, I experienced postpartum anxiety in a way I didn't recognize at first. It wasn't loud or dramatic. It looked like trying to do everything "right," questioning every decision, and carrying the constant weight of responsibility.

Even with my background in mental health, it took time to realize that what I was experiencing wasn't simply new parenthood—it was anxiety.

It helped me understand something I now witness often in my work:

We can be functioning.

We can be smiling.

We can be doing everything we're supposed to be doing.

And still be struggling.

Today, one of the things I care about most in my work is creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and understood before they reach a breaking point.

I believe these experiences deserve to be spoken about with honesty and compassion—not minimized, dismissed, or hidden behind expectations of what this season is "supposed" to feel like.

That belief shapes how I work.

Whether you're processing a difficult birth, navigating postpartum anxiety, grieving a loss, or moving through another significant life transition, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard. Where your experiences are taken seriously. Where you don't have to convince someone that what you're feeling matters.

Because healing doesn't begin when we have all the answers.

It begins when we no longer have to carry everything alone.

My Approach

Therapy isn't about having all the answers. It's about having a space where you don't have to carry everything on your own.

My hope is that when you leave our sessions, you feel a little more understood, a little more connected to yourself, and a little less alone.

Compassionate & Collaborative

I believe your voice matters.

You are the expert on your own life and experiences. My role is to bring curiosity, compassion, and clinical expertise as we work together to better understand what you're carrying and create meaningful change.

Together, we'll move at a pace that feels right for you, in a space grounded in warmth, acceptance, and genuine respect.

Trauma Informed & Evidence Based

Our experiences don't happen in isolation.

The relationships we've had, the environments we've grown up in, and the systems we've moved through all shape how we experience ourselves and the world today.

My work is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Attachment Theory.

Rather than applying one approach to everyone, I tailor therapy to your unique needs, strengths, and goals.

I believe healing happens when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported—not because they're expected to have it all together, but because they finally have space to be fully human.

Practical &Values-Based

Together, we'll explore the patterns keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop practical tools that help you navigate life's challenges with greater flexibility, self-compassion, and confidence.

My hope is that therapy helps you build a life guided less by fear or self-criticism, and more by the values that matter most to you.
